The page

• Write the thing you’ve been putting off, then tap Set it. It becomes the one thing at the top of the page. Tap it to change its words.
• Give it 10 starts a quiet session. Less asks for five, then two; More goes back to ten. After dark, the page leads with Give it 2.
• When the time is up, the page says You gave it time. Enough for now ends the session, then or at any time. Keep going lets the garden grow on.
• To finish a thing, draw a line through its words, or tap Done. It grows into the tree farther down the page.
• Make it smaller asks for the smallest part of your thing. Underneath, Or say what’s in the way lets you write down what is stopping you, and then let it go.
• Put it down offers Keep it here, Tomorrow, Someday or It’s not mine anymore.
• Pull the page up to find Later, below the fold. Tap a word there to make it your thing; a long one opens to be read first. Keep going down for your tree.

On the Lock Screen

While you give something time, the Lock Screen shows your thing and one quiet sentence: Giving it time. When the time is up, it says You gave it time. If you keep going, it goes back to Giving it time.

There are no numbers and no buttons. It goes away when you choose Enough for now.

Questions

Where is my data?

Only on your iPhone. There is no account and no sync. If you back up your iPhone, the backup includes it, as it does for every app. Privacy has the whole of it.

The time was up, but no notification came.

The app asks once, the first time you give something time. You can turn notifications on in Settings › Notifications › Leaf by Leaf. Everything else works the same without them.

My thing isn’t on the Lock Screen.

Live Activities may be off for the app: Settings › Apps › Leaf by Leaf. If you swiped it away, it stays away until the next time you give something time.

Can I turn the sound on or off?

It is off unless you turn it on. Beside the tree, farther down the page, tap Sound off.

Why are there no numbers?

Any number that can go down becomes a verdict on a hard week, and a hard week is when this app should be kindest. So there are no streaks, scores or counts. The tree only ever grows.

What happened to what I wrote under What’s in the way?

Nothing kept it. It is gone.

How do I remove a thing?

Tap Put it down, then It’s not mine anymore. In Later, press and hold its words.

How do I remove everything?

Delete the app.
